Silver Tongue
Set sail on an unforgettable adventure.
Silver Tongue is a bold, hilarious, and delightfully unconventional reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. This brand-new musical tears up the map and reinvents the classic tale with catchy songs, cheeky humour, and that signature Hayes Theatre charm. Created by rising Australian talents Miranda Middleton, Jacob Parker, and Alec Steedman, and nurtured at Hayes over several years, this world premiere promises a swashbuckling journey brimming with heart, daring, and constant surprises.
At the story’s core is Jim—a young person adrift, navigating ambition and identity while chasing a legendary treasure map—and the infamous Silver Tongue, a magnetic pirate queen who is part mentor, part menace, and pure mystery. Together, this unlikely pair embarks on a riotous treasure hunt full of twists, betrayals, and uncharted adventures, ultimately discovering truth, redemption, and the chance to write their own destinies.
Led by Hayes favourite Billie Palin (Godspell, The Pirates of Penzance) and a cast of actor-musicians, under the guidance of our Artistic Directors, Silver Tongue is a wet, wild, and witty voyage packed with big ideas, sharp dialogue, and genre-blending songs that will sweep you off your feet.
