SUMMARY:Pamela Allen exhibition
DESCRIPTION:State Library of NSW launches Australia’s first Pamela Allen exhibition\nThe State Library of NSW is bringing the magical world of beloved children’s author-illustrator Pamela Allen to life\, with Australia’s first-ever interactive exhibition dedicated to her work — now open for families to enjoy. \nThe Curious World of Pamela Allen invites visitors to step inside the pages of treasured classics including Mr Archimedes’ Bath\, Mr McGee\, Grandpa and Thomas and Alexander’s Outing\, celebrating more than 40 years of stories that have delighted generations of young readers. \nState Librarian Dr Caroline Butler-Bowdon says the exhibition reflects the growing role libraries play in family life.\n“Families are coming to libraries more than ever to connect\, explore and play together. This joyful exhibition is our way of showing families just how much we love having them here.” \nDesigned as an immersive story-play space\, the exhibition allows children and parents to: \n\nPlay beneath Mr McGee’s tree and slide down its slippery dip\nTurn giant pages of Bertie and the Bear and bring the story to life\nSplash and explore with the animals from Who Sank the Boat?\nDress up in character hats\, discover cosy reading nooks and secret hideaways\nView Pamela Allen’s original illustrations and more\n\nPamela Allen says the exhibition captures the heart of her storytelling.\n“This exhibition is a playground where children and parents can have fun together and create lasting memories. My books are made to be shared — it’s the voice that brings them to life.” \n–> Official website \n \nReview\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nView this post on Instagram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nA post shared by Sydney Influencer Shows Theatre Films Events Exhibitions (@chamellephoto) \n\n\n \n📖 Pamela Allen exhibition at the State Library of NSW \n📖 I took my son to see the beautiful exhibition about the career of esteemed author and illustrator Pamela Allen (who is 91 now!) \nI remember her books fondly from my childhood and primary school days so it was nice for my experience to come full circle by me introducing her books to my son. \nI love that the exhibition is suitable for both adults and children. For the adults there’s plenty to look at and read and for the kids there are a few fun interactive activities to explore. My son loved them all. \nI highly recommend you check it out if you have kids or grandkids under the age of 8 or if you’re just a big kid at heart or admirer of beautiful stories/illustrations like me. \nIt’s free and on until July 2027 but don’t leave it till the last minute! \nThe State Library of NSW also hosts a number of other excellent exhibitions (not really suitable for young children though). \n#pamelaallen #pamelaallenexhibition #statelibraryofnsw #lauraharrispublishing #penguinbooks #penguinkidsbooks

SUMMARY:Beach
DESCRIPTION:The Beach\nThe centrepiece of the Australian National Maritime Museum’s summer program is The Beach — an exhibition and all-ages playscape designed to bring people together and highlight kindness\, care and community. \nThe Beach reflects shared Australian values: looking out for one another\, welcoming difference\, and celebrating our seaside culture. It affirms the beach as a place that belongs to everyone and should always feel safe and welcoming. \nFollowing the tragic events of 14 December\, the museum reflected deeply on whether to continue. Director and CEO Ms Daryl Karp AM said the decision was ultimately to move forward\, showcasing beaches as places of connection and belonging — spaces of shared joy\, openness and togetherness at the heart of Australian life. \nFun\, art and memory come together through digital projections\, soundscapes\, interactive rockpools and a towering sand-free castle\, transforming the Lighthouse Gallery into a familiar yet imaginative summer world. Here\, the beach becomes not just a destination\, but a way of seeing ourselves and each other. \nWorks by artists including Anne Zahalka\, Max Dupain\, Lola Ryan\, Charles Meere and Ken Done celebrate beach rituals and cultural rhythms\, inviting reflection on how the beach shapes us — and how we shape it. \nPrograms including babies’ hour\, family workshops\, performances\, late nights\, yoga and life drawing encourage connection and acknowledge that beaches have not always felt safe for everyone. Visitors are invited to consider inclusion\, respect and shared responsibility on the shore. \nThe Beach runs as part of the museum’s summer program 19 December 2025 –  1 February 2026\, 10:00 am—4:00 pm.  \nEntry fees – Holiday ticket\n\n\nAdult: $40.00\nFamily: $99.00\nConcession: $35.00\nChild: $30.00\nInfant: Free\nMember: Free\n\n\nhttps://fun-filled-finds.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/The-Beach-objects.mp4\n \nhttps://fun-filled-finds.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/The-Beach-rockpools.mp4\n
