SUMMARY:Saplings
DESCRIPTION:Saplings\nStories from the law and justice system \n“I wasn’t there because I wanted to be—I was there because I had to be. If Josh hadn’t eaten my noodles\, I wouldn’t be here…” \nWould you break bail for a packet of Mi Goreng? Snitch on a mate to save yourself? In Saplings\, small choices spiral into life-changing consequences. Written by Hannah Belanszky and directed by Abbie-lee Lewis\, this powerful\, funny and heartbreaking production is drawn from workshops with young people in the youth justice system. Four young actors play multiple roles in a poetic\, raw show set to a rap and hip-hop soundtrack created by young people themselves. \nHonest\, moving and unforgettable\, Saplings celebrates First Nations creativity and the resilience of young people. \nFor ages 14+ \nSydney Opera House presents an ATYP production \n16-17 May 2026 \n–> More Info / Book Tickets

SUMMARY:Gutenberg! The Musical!
DESCRIPTION:Gutenberg! The Musical!\nMeet Bud and Doug. Tonight could change everything for them. \nFrom the team behind Beetlejuice: The Musical comes the Broadway sensation Gutenberg! The Musical! – a gleefully chaotic love letter to the dreamers of theatre and the art form itself. It’s a riotous\, sharply silly tale about friendship\, ambition\, and the kind of stubborn optimism that might just reshape the world\, or at least haul you all the way to Broadway. \nBud and Doug are inseparable companions. Together\, they’ve crafted a colossal musical about Johannes Gutenberg (yes\, the printing-press pioneer) complete with a massive cast and lavish spectacle. After pouring their souls into it\, they’re unveiling the whole extravaganza in a single backer’s audition\, performing every role themselves with nothing but a mountain of baseball caps\, explosive enthusiasm\, and the tireless support of their pianist\, Charles. Monks\, villagers\, tavern girls\, or essential characters like “Friend of Gutenberg” and “Another Woman” – no part is too odd\, too earnest\, or too improvised for these two. \nRichard Carroll (Murder For Two\, The Pirates of Penzance) helms Australia’s first staging of Gutenberg! since its record-breaking Broadway run in 2023–24. Sydney Theatre Award winners Stephen Anderson (Titanique) and Ryan Gonzalez (In The Heights) lead this jubilantly irreverent salute to creativity\, tenacity\, and the pure delight of putting on a show nobody asked for but everyone ends up loving. \nSydney: 10 April – 10 May 2026 \n—> More Info / Book Tickets Here

SUMMARY:A Man of No Importance
DESCRIPTION:A Man of No Importance\n  \nPresented by Neglected Musicals in association with Hayes Theatre Co\nSet in Dublin in 1964\, this musical follows Alfie Byrne\, a middle-aged bachelor leading a quiet life with his devoted spinster sister. By day he works as a bus conductor\, but by night he transforms into an amateur theatre impresario\, passionately devoted to staging the plays of his idol\, Oscar Wilde. \nAlfie is a modest\, reserved man whose greatest joy comes from directing his small theatre group in the local church. But when he announces that their next production will be Wilde’s daring Salome—instead of their usual The Importance of Being Earnest—the church authorities balk at the “immodest dancing\,” and Alfie’s carefully ordered world begins to unravel. \nAfter years of hiding\, Alfie is forced to confront who he truly is and embrace the life he’s been avoiding. As Wilde famously said\, “The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.” \nFirst performed Off-Broadway in 2002\, this production is part of Neglected Musicals\, a theatre initiative dedicated to bringing rarely seen or never-before-staged musicals to Australian audiences. Shows are performed with scripts in hand\, piano accompaniment\, and only a day of rehearsal\, celebrating the raw charm and discovery of overlooked works. \nNeglected Musicals is a theatre initiative dedicated to presenting musical theatre that has never (or rarely) been seen in Australia.  The musicals are presented with scripts in hand\, and with piano accompaniment after only a day’s rehearsal.  \n\n—> More Info / Book Tickets Here

SUMMARY:Eugene Onegin - Opera
DESCRIPTION:Eugene Onegin\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the haze of youth and its stormy moods\, she lingered… yet the face she longed for remained a mystery. \nTatyana drifts through life with her head tucked inside romantic tales. When the charismatic Eugene Onegin steps across her path\, she senses her own story stirring to life. Her hope is bright\, but Onegin turns it aside. \nEugene Onegin traces the fragile arc between possibility and what is forever lost. The space between them becomes its own quiet disaster. Tchaikovsky’s luxurious score shapes an opera steeped in memory\, longing\, and the ache of hindsight. \nKasper Holten’s “hyper-intelligent\, deeply moving” staging (Limelight) brings reflection into sharp focus. Through vivid flashbacks\, Tatyana and Onegin stand witness to their younger selves making decisions that will echo through the years. \nLauren Fagan returns in triumph after her searing performance as Suor Angelica in Il Trittico. She appears alongside Ukrainian baritone Andrei Bondarenko as Onegin and rising Australian tenor Nicholas Jones as Lensky. \nAnna Skryleva steps onto the Opera Australia podium for the first time to lead one of Tchaikovsky’s most treasured masterpieces. The Romantic music enriches Pushkin’s tale of love unreturned and hearts undone. \nPresented by Opera Australia \n\n\n\n\n\n\n–> More Info / Book Tickets Here

SUMMARY:Turandot Opera
DESCRIPTION:Turandot Opera by Puccini\nWhat is born at night and dies by dawn? What burns without light\, and what ice glows with fire? \nPrincess Turandot never invited suitors to her court – yet they came. She warned them all with riddles sharp enough to kill\, daring anyone to pierce her icy heart. But what happens when someone finally solves the puzzle and reaches the woman behind the legend? \nInternational director and choreographer Ann Yee reimagines Turandot in a breathtaking new production for Australia’s national Opera Conference. With towering sets\, immersive visuals\, and stunning choreography\, this spectacular staging weaves together the courage of Turandot\, the pain of her ancestors\, and the selfless love of another woman into a powerful story of resilience and transformation. \nPuccini’s sweeping score carries audiences through the opera’s vast emotional landscapes—from the thunderous choruses to the spine-tingling heights of “Nessun dorma.” \nTwo of Australia’s leading dramatic sopranos\, Rebecca Nash (fresh from the Metropolitan Opera\, New York) and Anna-Louise Cole (star of The Ring Cycle)\, share the title role. They are joined by acclaimed tenor Young Woo Kim alongside Diego Torre and Rosario La Spina\, under the batons of Henrik Nánási\, Nicholas Milton\, Andrea Battistoni\, and Tahu Matheson. \nA feast for the senses\, Turandot fuses myth\, music\, and movement into an unforgettable theatrical experience — a spectacular highlight of the season that will leave audiences spellbound. \n  \n—> More Info / Book Tickets Here or Here

SUMMARY:The Bogong's Song
DESCRIPTION:The Bogong’s Song\nA Journey into Imagination and Country \nWhat lights the way when you’ve lost your path? A whisper on the breeze. A sparkle in the night sky. The delicate flight of a moth. \nWhen a brother and sister switch off the lights for the night\, they are carried into a world of imagination—a doorway into their Dreaming.
