The Pout Pout Fish Film Review
🎥🚄🦝 Pets on a Train (Falcon Express) Movie
‘Pets on a Train’ delivers exactly what its title suggests – an eclectic group of animals hurtling across the country aboard a runaway TGV train going at high speed, entirely without humans on board… and all on Christmas Eve! The chaos begins when the train is hijacked remotely by a power-obsessed badger, Hans, setting the stage for a surprisingly engaging adventure.
Its original French title, ‘Falcon Express’, refers to Falcon, the protagonist raccoon who quietly anchors the story, and as the film unfolds, we gradually uncover why he identifies as a falcon and how he found himself entangled in this crisis.
Because the entire narrative takes place within the confines of the train, the film allows for unexpectedly rich character development without the distraction of shifting locations. The animals are forced to collaborate in order to avert catastrophe (Will the train crash? Will it explode? Will it come apart?), and their journey is filled with dynamic action sequences, genuine tension and suspense, and moments of charming humour. I especially appreciated the underlying themes of friendship and teamwork, as well as the playful jabs at mainstream media, social media and influencer antics. My 6 yo son and I both found the film thoroughly delightful.
Thank you for tickets to this fun, heartwarming and action packed movie.
