Zootopia*
Zootopia* 2 expands the bustling animal metropolis with a new chapter that dives into unseen corners of the city and introduces an entire community of secretive reptile residents. Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) return as partners whose latest investigation pulls them into the orbit of Gary De’Snake, a slippery pit viper voiced by Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan. Their discovery hints at a far larger mystery simmering beneath Zootopia’s polished surface.
The film reunites Disney Animation’s Oscar-winning duo Jared Bush and Byron Howard in the director’s chairs, with Yvett Merino producing. Together, they steer the story into fresh territory, blending warm humor with a deeper look at the city’s evolving social dynamics.
An all-star voice ensemble brings the world to life. Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song portray the influential Lynxley family, a clan with a long legacy in Zootopia’s public life. Fortune Feimster appears as Nibbles Maplestick, a quirky beaver who runs a popular podcast obsessed with reptile lore. Idris Elba returns as the steadfast Chief Bogo, Patrick Warburton steps in as actor-turned-mayor Brian Winddancer, Quinta Brunson adds charm as quokka therapist Dr. Fuzzby, and Nate Torrence once again embodies Clawhauser, the ever-bubbly cheetah at the precinct front desk.
Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin also make playful cameos as wool-covered residents Ed Shearin and Baalake Lambkin, lending extra fun to a film already packed with character.

🎥🐰🦊 Zootopia 2 Preview Screening in Hoyts, Sydney, Australia
We headed down with our Piña Koalas in hand to the Burning Mammal Festival for the much-anticipated sequel to Zootopia, Zootopia 2. Our favourite fearless duo Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick (Jason Bateman) return to crack another case, and this time they’re joined by Gary de’Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan of Indiana Jones, The Goonies, and Everything Everywhere All at Once fame.
The film is filled with hilarious antics, clever animal-themed puns, and playful visual gags. As a French speaker, I particularly appreciated the pun “amoose bouche,” along with the witty selection of parody films on a streaming platform, “Huluzoo”. My favourite animal is the camel, and I absolutely loved the way the camels were drawn, standing on 2 legs with their humps jutting out to the side. Actually I loved the way all the anthropomorphic animals were drawn.
If you enjoy a well-crafted mystery with an unpredictable ending, wrapped in plenty of fun and humour, this sequel will be right up your alley.
We were also lucky enough to spot the beautiful Catherine Laga’aia, who will star in the upcoming live-action Moana film, and we received an exclusive Disney Lorcana card courtesy of Hoyts Cinemas – the perfect finishing touch to an already memorable experience. (Card available at Hoyts with each ticket sold, while stocks last)
