Goat (2026)

Goat (2026) is an upcoming animated sports comedy directed by Tyree Dillihay (with Adam Rosette as co-director) and produced by Stephen Curry, Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Erick Peyton, Adam Rosenberg, and Rodney Rothman under Sony Pictures Animation.

The film follows Will Harris (voiced by Caleb McLaughlin), a determined little goat who dreams of making it in the high-intensity, full-contact sport of roarball against much larger and tougher competitors. Despite skepticism from his new teammates, Will sets out to prove that even the smallest players can make a big impact on the game. Along the way he crosses paths with stars like Jett Fillmore (Gabrielle Union), Lenny Williamson (Stephen Curry), and others who populate this all-animal world. With themes of perseverance, teamwork, and self-belief, Goat blends humour and heart in a family-friendly underdog story.

Goat (2026) is inspired by a book. It was inspired by the book Funky Dunks by Chris Tougas, although it is an original animated film with its own story adapted for the screen

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 26 March 2026 in Australia.

Review

GOAT is a lively animated sports comedy set in a world where anthropomorphic animals compete in a fast-paced game called roarball, a basketball-style sport played at the professional level.

The story follows small but determined goat Will Harris (voiced by Caleb McLaughlin), who unexpectedly earns a spot on the struggling Vineland Thorns team despite being surrounded by much larger and stronger players. As the smallest athlete on the court, Will has to prove he belongs while winning over teammates who initially doubt him.

Produced by NBA star Stephen Curry, the film leans into a classic underdog story about believing in yourself and showing that “smalls can ball.” With energetic roarball matches, colourful animation, and plenty of humour from its animal characters, it’s especially fun for basketball fans and Curry supporters.

Ultimately, the cute, smart and funny cast of animated animals makes GOAT a charming family movie that’s likely to delight younger viewers. My son absolutely love it! 😊

Bubs and I joined the Vineland Thorns too! 🤣
