Hoppers (2026)
Hoppers is an upcoming animated adventure-comedy from Pixar Animation Studios, directed by Daniel Chong and produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle.
The story follows Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda), an animal lover who, with the help of groundbreaking technology that lets people “hop” their consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, enters the body of a robotic beaver to communicate with wildlife and uncover unexpected mysteries. Along the way she befriends characters such as King George (voiced by Bobby Moynihan), the optimistic beaver leader, and clashes with Mayor Jerry (voiced by Jon Hamm), whose development plans threaten animal habitats. Through her journey, Mabel learns about the challenges and wonders of the natural world from an insider’s perspective, blending humour and heart in classic Pixar style.
The film features a star-studded voice cast including Meryl Streep, Dave Franco, and Sam Richardson and is set for theatrical release on 5 March 2026 in Australia.

Hoppers Film Review / Post
🎥 🦫 Hoppers Disney/Pixar Movie – Sydney preview screening
I saw a sneak peek of Hoppers way back in June 2025 during the Annecy international animated film festival in France so I’ve been hanging out to see this film ever since!
Animal-loving 19 year old Mabel volunteers to test a new technology that allows humans to “hop” their consciousness into robotic animals. Disguised as a beaver, she enters the hidden world of wildlife living around a fragile pond ecosystem. But when plans for local development threaten the animals’ home, Mabel and her new friends must work together to protect their habitat.
Watching Hoppers as a mum with my seven-year-old son was a lovely reminder that family films can work on two very different levels. My son was completely captivated by the cheeky and funny animals and fast-paced adventure, while I found myself noticing the deeper message beneath it all.
The story quietly brings modern issues like environmental destruction and over-development to the surface in a way that feels natural rather than preachy. Children will see a fun story about animals saving their home, while adults will recognise the reflection on how easily nature can be pushed aside in the name of progress and the advantages of working together collectively. It’s thoughtful, funny, and the kind of film that sparks meaningful conversations between parents and kids afterwards.
Thank you @disnyaunz for the invitation to this super fun preview screening. Thanks to the beavers ( @pistachioentertainment ) for letting me join their beaver colony!
