The Magic Faraway Tree (2026) is a whimsical fantasy adventure film directed by Ben Gregor and produced by Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown, Danny Perkins, and Jane Hooks, bringing Enid Blyton’s beloved books to life for a new generation.
The movie follows Tim and Polly Thompson (played by Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy) and their three children, Beth, Joe, and Fran, who are forced to relocate to the remote English countryside and soon discover an enchanted tree full of magic and mystery. As the children explore the tree’s many levels, they meet its eccentric residents – including Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning), and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns) – each leading them into fantastical lands full of surprises. Together the family embarks on spectacular adventures that challenge them and draw them closer as they learn to reconnect and value one another.
With a star-studded cast that also includes Jennifer Saunders and Rebecca Ferguson, the film blends heart, humour, and imagination in a modern take on a cherished classic. The Magic Faraway Tree is set to enchant audiences when it hits cinemas on 26 March 2026 in Australia.
